There's freedom in a life in Christ. Not legalism. Not just rules
to follow. God calls us to strive for a life of holiness and
pursuit of righteousness. But within that goal is a pathway of
possibilities. There is liberty - not to sin, but to love Christ
and Father God in a style all your own - built up in and surrounded
by the truth of scripture.
At Mt. Olive, we're
not all hung up on whether you raise your hands or clap during
music worship, kneel as you're singing or at the altar if moved
by the Holy Spirit. If you feel more comfortable and focused
on being in the presence of God just standing and singing, or
closing your eyes, that's OK. We're concerned that what happens
in corporate worship time is doctrinally sound (particularly
the songs we sing and the Word as it is taught).
We're not charismatic
in the denominational sense of the word. But we do believe God
moves in ways we many times cannot understand - in miracles,
in unexplainable mercy. God cannot be put in a box. |
