Article from Yahoo! News:
MIAMI (AFP) - Florida's legislature has approved a bill that would give residents the right to open fire against anyone they perceive as a threat in public, instead of having to try to avoid a conflict as under prevailing law.
Outraged opponents say the law will encourage Floridians to open fire first and ask questions later, fostering a sort of statewide Wild West shootout mentality. Supporters argue that criminals will think twice if they believe they are likely to be promptly shot when they assault someone.
Republican Governor Jeb Bush, who has said he plans to sign the bill, says it is "a good, commonsense, anti-crime issue."
So if this Florida bill gets passed along with the one giving students the right to sue their professors for teaching anything that offends them, I'm willing to bet the mortality rate for those in the educational field is likely to go up within the Sunshine State. From how I understand it, when a professor starts talking about evolution in Florida, the offended students will be able to shoot him. On the other hand, perhaps agitated liberals will be able to legally shoot at Governor Jeb when he pisses them off. A special note to all the Baby Boomers getting ready to retire: don't forget to pack your six-shooter when you ship off to your southern coast retirement home. Freshly-squeezed orange juice just came with a price.

Comic update today.
1-25-05
In effort to keep this page from going the way of the dodo, I've decided to expand the range of its content beyond comics. Today I have added a short story that was originally slated for publication at The Times of Acadiana, but recent managerial changes at that newspaper will soon put an end to its fiction section. Rather than have my story float in limbo forever, it can now be read here.

A message to all the die-hard fans:
FEAR NOT! Planet Dysto may have taken a short break, but it hasn't died yet. While I may be rather busy working on film-related jobs in the coming months (years?), I will try and keep updating this site with whatever crap I can think of. The updates may not come as steadily as they once did, but they will come if you are patient.
