Saturday - Zeldafest - 1:00 - be there! Every band gets 25 minutes--come out and support us if you can, and enjoy the other bands--after all, it's free...and the weather should be good. Christ School football field; the show is 12:30 to 10:00 and we play at 1. Hope to see you there!
Sun Apr 10, 2005 12:04:29pm EDT (Andrew)
Hey everyone, I've been doing a little work on the site. You may notice some major changes this week because I've been meaning to do some things...and Zeldafest gives me a good excuse. I'm hoping we may get a little publicity. Anyway, the big thing right now is The Groupie - our new Google Group. It will probably replace the log (although I haven't removed the log yet...we'll just see how it works out). So everyone needs to join the list! That's all for now - stay posted for updates about Saturday.
Fri Apr 8, 2005 10:13:26pm EDT (Brad)
Hey everyone! As of right now, we're signed up for Zeldafest! In case you're not aware of what that is, it's a music festival for private schools. It is Saturday the 16th at Christ School from 1-10. Once we get some more details we'll keep you informed but it's gonna be AWESOME. We've got an hour set of music and we'll definatly be playing some songs that NO ONE has heard before! (And as of right now, neither have we except for Alex who wrote one of them) So BE SURE to mark the 16th on your calender because Second Dawn is coming to Christ School and is gonna rock out! Thanks everyone!!!
Mon Feb 28, 2005 11:42:59am EST (Alex)
Well, I had some serious spare time this morning (Yay for snow days!), so I posted the new song, “Leave Me Burning,” and then updated my profile, so be sure to check those things out. Play is in full swing right now, so band activity is low, but as Nathan Detroit would say, "Just be patient, and you'll get some action!"
Sat Feb 5, 2005 5:57:40pm EST (Andrew)
Yes, Rhythm on the River was a success. Even though we got beaten down by ¿7 Card Stud?...hey it was close! Everyone put on a good show, though, and it was definitely better than any other Valentines Dinner. Anyway, Brad had the camcorder going, so we have video of most of the show, including The Fall and Bread & Wine...but since we were last, Afterglow got cut off. It will live forever in the memories of those who were there; lol. But yea, we may be able to add the videos to the site; just be watching! Thanks to everyone at the school who supported us; it was fun!
Wed Feb 2, 2005 7:59:44pm EST (Andrew)
Well today we had our final rehearsal before the Battle...er...Rhythm on the River. And I'm not going to tell you anything else because those other bands might hear...lol but it's gonna rock; we'll see you there!
Sat Jan 22, 2005 0:04:12am EST (Andrew)
I was going to post news earlier in the week...but Guys-and-school-SIP-Dolls-Target got in the way...lol most of you know what I mean. Anyway, here's a shout out to everyone that was at Montreat on Sunday! It was awesome. For a 5-song concert played in a youth room, that is...but it went well and it was a lot of fun. For those of you who didn't know, we played from about 5:30 to 6:00 (yes I had the time completely wrong on the last post) and did The Fall, Can't Complain, Bread & Wine, Taking Toll, and Somehow. And remember--we're playing again soon. Everybody clear Feb 4 and come vote for us at the Battle...er..."Rhythm on the River"...lol. More details to come--thanks for all your support!
Sun Jan 16, 2005 1:15:26am EST (Andrew)
Tomorrow. Montreat Pres. Second Dawn. Be there. I don't remember the time...this is Alex's deal, of course--is it 6:30? Email, call, IM...you know how to get in touch; come if you can!
Tue Jan 4, 2005 7:33:18pm EST (Alex)
Well, I just finished posting the lyrics for Bread and Wine (a song that's on the album) and Look In the Mirror, a new one! I've still got one more to go, but it's a start! Anyway, we're trying to get things rolling again, so check out the lyrics to these and to Hold, the new one of Andrew's, which I think might be the best thing Second Dawn as produced to date! Exciting stuff - check it out and let us know what you think!
Thu Dec 30, 2004 0:58:22am EST (Andrew)
Wow it's late and I should be packing for vacation tomorrow...oh well; first things first. I just posted the lyrics for my new song! That's right, we are still alive and we've had TWO sessions within a week, with THREE new songs well underway (I fixed the Admin page so Alex should be posting his two new songs pretty soon as well). No recordings, partly because we don't want to waste time setting up equipment, and partly because we want to save it for the CD! And just for a quick update on that...I do have the recordings we made, and I am working on them...the first 3 tracks are pretty much mastered. That means there's about 7 more to go, and they'll go quicker because the recordings got better as we went along. As soon as I have time I'll get on it--maybe we'll have a CD...eventually!
Fri Dec 24, 2004 9:55:00am EST (William)
Hey! We finally got together for a few hours, it was awesome, it's funny how we usually all seem to get better even when we don't play together for a while. We heard Alex's 2 new songs, they were great! =) So we took most of our time playing those and making bass, piano, and drum parts to them. Oh, and we watched the newly wed game... it was on tv. Those crazy newly weds!
Mon Dec 6, 2004 11:58:58pm EST (Andrew)
If anyone was wondering why the radiolink.net address wasn't working, I figured out the problem...so I paid some bills that were due a couple months ago and it's all good now ;)
Sat Dec 4, 2004 0:21:50am EST (Andrew)
I felt like I should post something...geez nothing's happening; it's kinda frustrating BUT (as Brad noted in the log) the Senior Auction and the SIP are over!! ...mostly!!! Now if we can just make it through exams...lol hopefully we'll get some stuff together. Everyone knows seniors don't do anything for the second semester anyway. Have no fear; there will be time to rock!
Mon Oct 11, 2004 1:11:26am EST (Andrew)
For those of you who don't know, we got the opportunity to do some real recording last Monday! For FREE! It was really awesome; I'm not going to try and explain how it worked out, but basically it was a student who was recording us as a kind of test...anyways, we went through our 9 song repertoire and recorded them all! They're not really CD-quality...but they are INFINITELY better than the recordings from my basement. So I'll see what I can do with some mixing and mastering and editing...listen up for new stuff! And check out Meagan's pictures of our recording session!
Sun Oct 3, 2004 10:51:50am EDT (Andrew)
Well we had a VERY productive session yesterday! We basically went through and worked all of our music so far, which is about 9 or 10 songs! Things are looking good. We didn't record anything new, but stay updated because we might surprise you! Oh, and when I was cleaning my room today, I found some pics from Innsbruck. You can check em out on the pictures page.
Sat Oct 2, 2004 1:57:34am EDT (Andrew)
The site is working again! Or at least so it seems...let's not jinx it, but everything seems to be back up. So I'm really glad for that! Other good news: the pictures from our last rehearsal have been posted! So Meagan doesn't have to kill me AND you all can look through the new stuff! Everybody wins! lol ok it's reeeally late and we're rehearsing in the morning...goodnight.
Tue Sep 21, 2004 10:54:56pm EDT (Andrew)
OK I'm really really annoyed at this web server because it's screwing with my wonderful scripts. The counter, the log, the news, the songs, EVERYTHING is screwed up and I dunno how I'm gonna fix it, but bear with me. I'll let you know as soon as I get it sorted out.
Mon Sep 20, 2004 11:52:50pm EDT (Andrew)
Today was a productive day! We had a session and for once, we got a lot done! All four of us were there, PLUS two active members of the fan club (lol), Meagan and Ara. Meagan has been appointed president of the fan club and official band photographer. You know what that means...almost 100 new pictures...yeah it was insane. They're not up yet, but they will be soon! You see, I'm having serious site problems. I just spent about 2 hours fighting with my CGI scripts only to figure out that the problem is NOT in my CGI scripts. It's a problem with the server...arg which in English means "it's a really really annoying problem which I have absolutely no control over." So hopefully things will get sorted out with the site, but in the meantime you can rest assured that songs are definitely coming along. We'll update a list for you soon, but you know we already have about 5 songs ready for performance (or recording?)...Today we worked on Bread & Wine, made some serious improvement with The Fall, and started working on The Last Call. All three of those are very close to being ready, bringing our new count to 7 or 8 songs! We're getting there...so stick around and I'm sure there will be great things to come!
Fri Sep 17, 2004 12:16:03pm EDT (Andrew)
Hey, we managed to get a session together! There may be hurricanes outside, but Second Dawn rocks on...or...somethin like that. Anyways, William couldn't come, but the other three of us worked a little bit. A very little bit...well we worked on some praise & worship stuff for chapel, then rehearsed Bread & Wine (since I've really never played it). And then we wasted a bunch of time making a techno song. Hahaha don't ask why. Just download it (check the Misc page). No other recordings to show you yet...but we're working on it!
Wed Sep 8, 2004 8:51:16pm EDT (Alex)
Hey, everybody! First of all, I just want to thank the Montreat Youth Group for letting us play for you guys. It was great to get some of our music heard, and our new song "Bread and Wine" was VERY well rescieved! Thanks a million! AAAAANNNDD, I'd like to formally announce/confirm that our CD is going to be recorded and produced under the supervision of David Schermerhorn up at Rigdecrest! Words can't express how excited we are! Dates are a little sckechy, but we'll keep you filled in when we can! Keep Rockin'!
Wed Aug 18, 2004 5:37:13pm EDT (William)
Just a quick note. We got together yesterday (Tuesday) and jammed some which was great. So we're really just in the process of refining our sound together because we have enough songs, we just haven't played all of them together yet ;). Anyway, the point is, don't lose hope, we're alive and pumpin' and things are going great!
Sat Aug 7, 2004 11:16:58pm EDT (Andrew)
Whoa...wait just a second...could it be...did the band actually get together?? Oh yeah, we finally did! So maybe it took us all summer...but even though we didn't do much band work during the summer, we've obviously all been practicing a lot--because things went really smoothly today and sounded really good! It was awesome. Trust me, we got a lot of work done--but we only have one thing to offer on the site right now. We made a recording of Alex's song, "Taking Toll". The song is sounding great, but...unfortunately Alex broke a string on his guitar right before we got to the bridge (which is by far the best part of the song). So you'll just have to wait and hear the whole thing later...but check out the sample on the songs page!
Sun Aug 1, 2004 10:53:35pm EDT (Andrew)
I'm back from Indiana! I was gone for quite a while but I am back now and I didn't stop working while I was gone! I whipped up some new stuff for the site and I just uploaded it. Most of it is behind-the-scenes stuff; you won't care about it, but it'll make the guys happy because I fixed up a bunch of stuff with the administration on the "About Us" and "Songs" pages. While I was testing the new stuff, I tweaked my profile a bit and I uploaded a new song. Well actually...it's not NEW but I completely rewrote "In the Eyes", so it might as well be called a new song. Check it out!
Fri Jul 23, 2004 12:24:52am EDT (Andrew)
Well just in case you're worried...I want to let people know where we all are! William has been at the beach, but he'll be back soon...unfortunately Brad and I are both leaving today! I'll be in Indiana all next week and he will be in Belgium. Yes yes, I know we've really slacked off on band stuff, so I'm not sure if anyone even visits here anymore (nobody's been posting on the log, if that says anything), but as soon as we get these vacations out of the way, we'll try and get some practice in!!
Tue Jul 20, 2004 10:16:35am EDT (Alex)
Well, got some new things cooking and just wanted to let everyone know! William and I are in the process of writing much more complex bass parts for our songs, which will add some great depth to our music (I think). PLUS, I bought a new, extremely powerful distortion petal, whick is doing wonders for my sound. On top of that, I've written a new bridge for Taking Toll, which I think you guys are gonna love! Exciting news, plus some other stuff I can't even talk about yet, but keep comin' back to the site! More news soon!
Mon Jul 12, 2004 10:15:49pm EDT (Andrew)
Alex came over today! aaaand...we did some stuff...not a whole lot, but we worked on parts for the new songs. Nothing new for you to see yet, but it's coming along! We're also talking about what to do about a CD...how many songs we should try to put on it, and details like that. We can play 5 songs right now...maybe 7-10 songs would be good for a CD...? We could work up a few more songs and then start producing the CD...post your opinions in the log!
Sun Jul 11, 2004 10:33:22pm EDT (Andrew)
So the band hasn't been doing too much...I did post a song today, though. It's actually not a new song--but I rewrote "Falling Down" and renamed it "Castles"--so check out the new lyrics. I've also been down in the basement working on piano and guitar parts for Alex's new stuff...hopefully we'll have a session soon!
Tue Jul 6, 2004 12:59:17pm EDT (Andrew)
Finally, I took a day to do some work for the band! You know, we got together the other day to hear Alex's new stuff. It wasn't for very long, but we got to talk over some things. Of course, you can see that Alex posted his new songs on the site...4 of them, at least--there should be another one or two coming! Yes, that's right...we have so many new songs...and today, guess what I did? I wrote one new song and posted all of the ones I've been working on lately--so there's 4 MORE new ones! Check out the Songs page for those awesome new lyrics from me and Alex, as well as some simple recordings that I made. Tell us what you think of the new stuff!
Sun Jul 4, 2004 8:53:18pm EDT (Alex)
Hey, everyone! Well, I just spent a butt load of time posting new songs, and I'm not quite done yet, but I'll finish off tomorrow. Right now, I'm going to watch fireworks! Thanks for all your support! Catch you later!
Sun Jun 13, 2004 12:08:59pm EDT (Andrew)
We got together yesterday. Yes, that's right--we ACTUALLY got together. Hmm we only played music for about an hour or two, but we worked a little bit on some new songs Alex has written. We're trying to get back on track; now that summer's here, we do have time...we'll be doing more stuff soon (although I'm going to be gone June 16-20). We'll try to get the new lyrics up soon--and hopefully some other updates! I do have pics from Innsbruck...I've been meaning to post them. Anyways, we're really sorry for letting down ALL our fans by not updating this site...lol but don't fear! We are still around and we're winding up for some awesome work this summer!
Sun May 16, 2004 10:14:19pm EDT (William)
well, I've figured it out! The new name for the band is "The Horse Wrestling Tango Spankers." Alright, no, I'm just kidding ;). Just thought I'd post a quick not, and tell people, again, many appologize for not getting really anything new out to all of ya'll. (wow, I just typed ya'll...). Back on topic! I wanted to just say that if you have any good pictures of us from the concert or whatever, then just let us know... they would be great if we could scan them and have some copies, maybe even for the website... Well, that's it, so stay posted, and have fun.
Wed May 12, 2004 10:52:54pm EDT (Brad)
Hey Everyone! Like William said, things are kinda slow right now as everyone's trying to finish up school in these last couple weeks. But dont' worry! Summer is coming and with summer comes the production of our first cd! (Crowds roar in applause). Anyways, those of you who have heard I was leaving the band you can put that rumor to rest. I was in fact offered a job down in Columbia, SC to do a full time recording job for the summer but it didn't work out so I will be staying here this summer. And SO, if did not get a copy of our Demo CD and you're just DYING to get one to tide you over until our cd comes out, then feel free to let us know. They are now on sale for...hmmm....ah...we'll just give you one. So let us know and we'll get one to you ASAP. Thanks everyone SO much!
Wed May 5, 2004 9:26:30pm EDT (William)
Hello everyone, well, not a whole lot is going on currently. But it is only because we all have so little time to get together and jam, but ya know, summer's right around the corner ;). Well, Alex, Issac Barnet, Noah Barnet, and myself played at chapel, and don't for a second think Second Dawn's breaking up ;). It was the last real chapel of the year and all so we had some fun. But anyway, before I babble too much, I just wanted to let everyone know that... Well, exams are coming up, and also the AP US History test is Friday (I'm the only one in the band not taking it). So unfortunately you will probably have to bare a few more weeks before any really big updates. But we've got alot planned for the summer, particularly since we'll all be here =). So I hope everyone's havin' a great time... well ya know, doing whatever you people do ;). Have fun.
Sat Apr 24, 2004 3:49:22pm EDT (Andrew)
I finally had some time to make changes to the site! You'll notice a new page in the About Us section called "The Band". Check it out, it's history on the band and our name and stuff like that! I also changed our bio pages a little bit; mine is rewritten and I'm going to get the other guys to rewrite theirs soon!
Fri Apr 23, 2004 11:40:30pm EDT (Andrew)
Well we just finished our first concert! Second Dawn went live at Innsbruck for our debut performance in front of...well yeah friends and family pretty much, but I think we attracted at least a few others! Thank you ALL for coming, and very special thanks to Helen for wonderful singing and CD selling (among many other things), to Krysten and Meagan for helping with CD labeling, and to everyone who helped to clean up afterwards! We could not have pulled this off without all the help. Overall I think the performance went really well for our first one! And we sold at least 30 CD's, I think--we sorta lost track but the band actually made some money!! It was awesome to have the CD's to sell, even if it was no huge profit. We will have some more for sale soon (we sold every disc we had with us), so contact us if you want to buy one (the email address is at the bottom of every page on this site, you know--just scroll down). We don't have a recording of the concert; something went wrong with my laptop...but we should have a whole lot of pictures because tons of people were taking them. Once we get ahold of some pics, you'll be able to see them here! Thank you again to everyone who came; we hope you enjoyed us, and we hope you'll stay updated with the website just in case we announce another concert!!
Thu Apr 15, 2004 10:47:05pm EDT (Andrew)
Wow, another good session today! I'm uploading tons of stuff right now...we tried something new, ya see. I got this new program and I won't explain it all, but it makes it really easy to record everything as it happens. So we basically recorded almost our entire rehearsal today! That means that we have 3 new recordings, plus 3 recordings of praise and worship songs. That's SIX!! Check out the songs page; they aren't the best quality because we didn't spend a ton of time perfecting the recordings, but they're decent. Oh yeah, the names: "Can't Complain", "One Request", and "Somehow", as well as "Every Move I Make", "Lord Most High", and "Prince of Peace". I also added a Miscellaneous section for Multimedia. Currently the only thing there is a recording of our conversation at dinner (hehe like I said, we basically recorded EVERYTHING). If you've got the time to download it, it's pretty funny ;) Anyway, that's all for now--check out all the new media and post your comments in the log!
Mon Apr 12, 2004 10:14:48pm EDT (Andrew)
We had an awesome session today! OK so first of all, we got a basic program lined up for Innsbruck; once we finalize details we'll probably post the song list and some other stuff on the site. But we worked on a TON of music! "Bridges and Backroads" and "Broken" are all polished and ready, we worked through "Can't Complain" and "Somehow"--which we've already rehearsed before--but now they're sounding really good. We also went through two completely new songs: one that I wrote, called "One Request", and one that Alex wrote, called "Breakthrough"--they're both sounding good and coming along nicely. We didn't do any recording because it takes too long to set up, and we really wanted to use the time for practice--we will probably want to do some recording at the concert, though. But basically now, we've got 4 songs sounding really good, plus 2 more coming along AND 2 more that I've written (I played em for the guys today but we didn't have time to work on them). Anyways, you can read the lyrics for my 3 new songs ("One Request", "Falling Down", and "Seventeen") on the Songs page, and I'll get Alex to post "Breakthrough" really soon. I'm feeling really good about it, but there's still a lot of work to be done by next Friday. Pray for us, that we can get everything ready!
Sun Apr 11, 2004 4:36:58pm EDT (Brad)
Hey everyone! Thanks for all the comments and support! We really appreciate it! Just an update about the concert. We are going to be playing INSIDE the Family Christian Bookstore. So come on in and find us. Shouldn't be too hard, considering you'll be able to hear us pretty well. This is the case UNLESS we have more than 100 people come. If we have more than 100 we will be moving out to the mall area. So if you could drop us a line, give us a call, e mail, anything and let us know if you're coming it would be GREAT. That would really help give us an idea of how many people are coming. Thanks SO much. Later
Thu Apr 8, 2004 10:44:30pm EDT (Andrew)
I'm back from vacation! Let me just tell you, Florida was great!! And hey, you could call it inspirational because I worked on at least four new songs! Maybe at least one will turn out good...anyways, keep an eye out, because we should be rehearsing sometime this weekend--that means we're going to be starting final preparations for Innsbruck. Song lists and other details, ya know...can anyone say MORE RECORDINGS? Hopefully...OK I'm not gonna hang around right now, but as far as the site goes--tonight I tweaked some stuff on the Songs page and I should be updating a few other things soon. Thanks for all the visiting and comments while I was gone; we're just 4 hits shy of 300!
Fri Apr 2, 2004 11:42:45pm EST (Andrew)
This will be my last update for a week, because it's spring break! All of us are going to be gone this week; I'm not exactly sure when we're all getting back (I'm getting back on Thursday night). We'll be having more rehearsals soon, because we've got to get ready for Innsbruck! We tried to rehearse today, but the music room at school was in use and we didn't have time to go to my house...me and Alex worked on a few things anyway--we're both working up some new songs! That's all for now; enjoy the new site and leave your comments! Have a good spring break, everyone!
Wed Mar 31, 2004 6:18:21pm EST (Andrew)
Um...I updated the site. I think it's pretty noticeable.
Sun Mar 28, 2004 0:50:17am EST (Andrew)
One more update today before I go to bed: I just uploaded all the pictures we took today! There's some nice ones; you should check em out! I also took the time to redo the Pictures page a little bit...I made it expandable like the Songs page. If I have time (maybe tomorrow or sometime this week), I hope I can redo a few more things about the page. Hopefully I'll be able to revamp things to make it look more professional...keep checking!
Sat Mar 27, 2004 7:21:49pm EST (Andrew)
Once again, we've been out of sight for a while...but we're still here! But you might have noticed a few changes--the band is now called Second Dawn! We decided on it at the session today...among a lot of other stuff. We had a pretty good session--we rehearsed "Out of Place", "Can't Complain", and "Somehow". They're coming along! We're having William sing "Out of Place" while Alex does the harmony...which is pretty cool. "Can't Complain" was almost ready to record, but it's on acoustic and Alex wants to do it on his (seeing as mine is a piece of crap, AND his has a pickup...). We only went over "Somehow" briefly, but it's working out. Hopefully we'll have some new recordings in the near future! But the BIG NEWS is that our gig at Innsbruck Mall has been rescheduled for April 23! You can see our flier on the new "Concerts" page. We'll have more details coming soon, but plan on being there!
Fri Mar 19, 2004 11:43:58pm EST (Andrew)
Well we had a band session today! With the half day of school we were finally able to get in a few hours of work...we didn't get anything major done, but we worked on some new stuff. There's a new version of Fading Away, and I'm working on a new song, and Alex is working on two. Oh yeah and we're trying to get Out of Place up to performance-level also. Final note--we're seriously considering renaming the band. Some of the best suggestions were "Second Dawn", "The Passage", "Midnight at Nine"...I can't remember the others but be looking for a change!
Wed Mar 17, 2004 5:27:18pm EST (William)
Hey everyone, well I haven't posted here yet, and I've got some HUGE very important news. Well, I just got off the phone with Brad, who was on the phone with the manager of the Insbruck Mall. Well, what happened is that our gig for this Friday... has been canceled, yes, that's right, canceled. But, it's ok, because the manager felt so bad about it she was completely willing to reschedule, and is also going to give us about 3-4 weeks of advertising at the Christian book store!!! Yes, that's right, you read me right, 3-4 weeks. So anyway, don't show up THIS Friday, cause there's no concert, check back on the website for an update of when the concert's been rescheduled for.
Mon Mar 15, 2004 9:09:11pm EST (Andrew)
We had a really productive session today! We worked up all of our songs for Friday; here's the list: Every Move I Make, God of Wonders, Lord Most High, Bridges and Backroads, Broken...we might add Fading Away if we can work the new version up to performance-level, and we might switch the order around a little. As for the time, we are having great difficulty with the Innsbruck people but HOPEFULLY we'll be able to get in touch with a manager sometime soon! Because we need to know the time we're playing...stay posted! One final thing: we made two recordings today--of Bridges and Backroads and of Broken. Yeah, I know we already did them, but these are much better; we used the mixing board and changed a few things here and there, so check them out! That should be enough to keep you busy until the next update! Thanks to all of you for supporting us.
Sat Mar 13, 2004 2:17:33pm EST (Andrew)
Alright, the play is drawing to a close (tonight is the final performance) and we're slowly getting our lives back. We're rehearsing on Monday and Friday, and then of course playing at Innsbruck on Friday evening. We've been getting a song list together; it needs a little tweaking but so far it's something like this: Every Move I Make, Jesus Lead On, God of Wonders, In the Secret, Bridges and Backroads, Broken, Fading Away, Cry of My Heart, Lord Reign in Me...we might not do all of those...I'm not sure; we'll see how rehearsal on Monday goes. Let's see, one more thing before I sign off--I'm working on some scripting for rating songs. Just check out the Songs page and you'll see what I mean!

A quick update here just so everyone knows what's going on: it's the week of the play at school (Mar 11 is opening night), and 3/4 of the band is involved. So we're majorly tied down at the moment, and we have no time for the band, and we're gonna have less than a week to get everything together for our gig at Innsbruck...not the way I would have liked it but hey, pray that it works out alright! We're getting together a song list and we may take some requests (not just of songs posted here...most of the stuff we're doing will actually be praise and worship stuff since it's with Family Christian Stores). So post your comments, and don't lose hope cause we'll be back strong in a week or two!

Alex here, and just wanted to thank you all for your amazing and uplifting comments about "Broken!" It's really nice to know one's work is appreciated. You'll all be glad to know, then, that I've written a guitar solo for the song, and Andrew and I are collaborating on creating a much nicer distortion for the whole thing. I'm really excited! I'm also working on a new song of sorta the same type called "Through the Fire" about Christ showing us the redemptive nature of suffering. PLUS (and this is the coolest news of all), I've just bought a new guitar! It's a Schecter C-1 Classic, and is absolutely beautiful! It should greatly improve our sound, both in concert and in the studio! Thanks for listening, and for all of your support!
Wed Feb 25, 2004 7:56:02pm EST (Brad)
Hey guys! This is Brad. Just testing out this new nifty news script. Also, I am working on a song! Yes, you heard correctly. Hopefully if the guys deem it worthy, we can put it up on the site. Well anyways, put March 19th on your calender! We're playing our first "real" gig. We're playing at either 7 or 8 in the evening. For ACA people we're suposed to have a half day that day. SO go home, get stuff done, then come on out to see us! I'll post again when I know exactly what time, but we would GREATLY appreciate it if everyone would come on out. And pray for us, because of the play, we won't be able to practice until the week of the show, so we've gotta work up a TON of stuff in a real short time. Anyway, thanks guys, you're the BEST!

I am officially posting this news with the ALL-NEW CGI news form! OK so that means pretty much nothing to any of you, BUT it does mean that now any of the guys can post news using this form! So that is a little bit exciting, isn't it?

Dang, the past week has been terrible...but I'm finally caught up on all my work, so I got a little bit of time to work on the site! No major updates, but I did write some new CGI for the Songs page. It shouldn't really affect how the page looks to you, but it will make it really easy for us to post new songs! So hopefully we'll have a few new ones soon!
Thu Feb 19, 2004 10:10:40pm EST (Andrew)
Sorry, but the updates have slowed down just a little. It's only temporary, but the band has agreed on a "week of silence"...to get our lives in order OUTSIDE of music...haha. There is still work going on, though. Alex is borrowing my pedal to work up some cool effects (he was working on getting the perfect one for Bridges and Backroads, last I heard). Hopefully within a week or so, we'll be able to get together again and make some new recordings with the mixing board!

Wow...a lot of stuff got done today! We rehearsed, but it was almost all chapel stuff. Later on, though, the mixing board arrived!!! So Brad came back over, and the two of us wired that thing up and played around with it for a looong time. And then we made a recording of "Out of Place"! It's not the best because there was no second guitar or bass, but the recording sounds SO much better now that we have the board. And I'm really satisfied with the way the song turned out, so download it and see for yourself!

Things are getting majorly updated around here...first of all, you might notice a slight difference in the way this page is arranged. The comments section was getting too large, so I moved it down below the news. And I automated all the news, so that only the 5 most recent updates are displayed on this page--the rest are displayed in an archive. I'm continuing to work on CGI for news, so soon any of the band guys will be able to post updates (instead of just me). I also started a mailing list for the band! You can subscribe using the box at the right. And finally, I created a new, easier address for the site: www.radiolink.net/PiT/ (case does not matter). It's a lot easier to remember, and you can email me at pit@radiolink.net! That's about all for now, but I'll be keeping you posted!

I just finished writing a new song! It's called "Lucky Me" (formerly titled "Moving On")...and I made a simple recording here in my bedroom. It has no drums or bass, but still it sounds alright! Check it out on the Songs page.
Thu Feb 12, 2004 (Andrew)
We had a session today! Without Brad, though...so we were a little bit handicapped. It was considerably quiter though...hehe well anyways we got a new recording done. Check out "Broken" on the Songs page--of course it has no drums, but it's pretty cool. I also tried working on some website stuff: I was writing new CGI, but something is screwed up on the ProHosting server and the CGI won't work. I sent a technical support email so hopefully I'll get that figured out soon! Oh and as of right now we are at 99 hits...it's awesome, guys; keep visiting!
Wed Feb 11, 2004 (Andrew)
The site is all up and fully functional on the new server! And I've just made a few updates: the About Us page has been updated just a little, and the Songs page has some new lyrics. My next project is to revamp this page, because between news and comments, it's getting a little crowded. So stay posted and you'll be seeing new stuff...one of the new things is going to be a mailing list! So be on the lookout for that in the near future; it'll be great to keep you guys updated--and thanks again to all of you; we really appreciate the support!

Well the transfer to the new server seems to have been fairly painless! The site has a new home with lots of room to grow (kinda like the band...)! The CGI isn't currently working, but I hope to have that fixed by the end of the night.
Sat Feb 7, 2004 (Andrew)
I did a little tweaking on the site today. Most of it won't be too noticeable (behind-the-scenes technical stuff), but I redid the About Us page! Some of our bio's are rewritten, and William finally wrote his...so check it out!
Fri Feb 6, 2004 (Andrew)
New lyrics! Alex sent me two songs yesterday, and after redoing the entire Songs page, I posted them! So we now have five songs total. And I know Alex has at least one that isn't posted yet, I have at least two in development, and William's even working on one or two! If we keep going at this rate, we'll be well on our way to a CD's worth of songs...now if we could only work some of them up to performance-level...Oh and I FINALLY fixed the log for real: there was a small problem if you submitted comments without filling in an email address. But I fixed it! So keep leaving those comments; we love hearing from you!
Mon Feb 2, 2004 (Andrew)
Alright I fixed up some exciting CGI junk, so the log is working now! Leave your comments on the site (or the band in general...or really whatever you want...lol)! Oh yeah and Brad's arm is out of the sling so he's drumming two-handed again! Haha although he's not half bad with one arm...
Sat Jan 31, 2004 (Andrew)
So we did rehearse today...it wasn't too great but it was still pretty fun. We don't have any new recordings for the Songs page, but we did get a bunch of pictures (thanks, Krysten...and whoever else was taking pics)! It was cool to have spectators for once, though! Except I think we do worse when we try to perform for people...hmmm...we may need to work on that. Oh well, check the pics and we'll be gettin together again soon!
Sat Jan 31, 2004 (Andrew)
I just uploaded the new Songs page...there's not too much there because I've gotta get lyrics together with the rest of the guys, but we do have the one recording of Bridges and Backroads available to download! It's a crappy recording cause I just did it through my laptop...but think of it as an early sample. We're rehearsing today so I should have a lot of new content later on!
Wed Jan 28, 2004 (Andrew)
The About Us section is coming along pretty well; me and Brad have been in touch but I've still gotta get info from the other guys. Check it out anyway! And oh yeah Brad, I fixed the stuff on the Pictures page that you wanted me to look at...so no more freakin out! Haha I'm gonna start working on the Songs page soon (maybe even tonight, but I'm a little busy). It's coming together!
Tue Jan 27, 2004 (Andrew)
The site is up! We had a session today and got a few things worked out. We made a recording of "Bridges and Backroads," but William had left for work by that time, so it doesn't have a bass. We'll re-record it soon. We also worked on "Fading Away" and a few other things, so more recordings are on their way in the near future! Oh yeah and we found out that our mixing board is back-ordered...so we'll have to wait a while before we get it. Oh well, it's no huge rush; we've got some time!
