Age: 22
Role: Drummer
Bio: I've been playing drums for about 3 years now. This last year is when I started playing in church and when I really started playing seriously. As far as how I got started...I've just always wanted to play the drums. Even when I was real young, I was fascinated by them. My mom however made me learn a 'real' instrument first (which actually turned out to be several) but I'm very thankful for what she did because now I have a great foundation for everything I do. Let's see, some things about me: first off, I live, breathe, and well I was going to say eat music but that wouldn't taste very good. No but seriously, my life centers around music and nothing brings me greater joy. In addition, I'm our resident technician/electrician. I'm usually the one doing the sound and setting stuff up. As far as the band is concerned, I love these guys to death and we have so much fun together. Above all of that, however, I love God and He is the reason for everything I do. It's my prayer that you would see Him through me.

Well my set up is less than perfect but I love it nonetheless. The drums I jam on are a beautiful burgandy Pearl Export Select. It's a great multi-purpose drumset. My cymbals are the Zildjian ZXT cymbal pack. Not too bad for a starter pack. It includes 14" high hats, a 16" crash, and a 20" ride. A 14" china also came with it but I don't have a free stand to use it. Right now, I'm borrowing an 18" Zildjian something or other crash but hopefully I'll be able to return that to my church and get myself a nice Zildjian A Custom Crash one of these days. Moving on, I invested in a Pearl Eliminator drum pedal which I love. Sweet interchangable cams niceness. I use Evans Hydraulics on my toms, an Evans EQ3 on my bass drum, and an Evans Genera snare head. I switched to 7A Promark drumsticks which I love. Light and fast which allows me to play some of our more upbeat and fast songs *Cough, The Fall, Cough*. I've got some Verve gig bags which are great. Finally I can trust someone besides myself to carry my drums. I made my own drum shield which I think the other guys love more than I do. I also use an old mattress to help absorb sound in our little basement of a studio. I use a Shure PG-57 in all of our recordings. It's far from an ideal mic setup but it's better than nothing. I have a little blue shaker that I love. I don't use it a whole lot but it adds a nice touch. As far as things to come, like I said earlier I'm hoping to be getting some new cymbals soon! That's about it for now!
