Musical Director
Ingrid S. Steele has a varied career. She serves as Organist/Music Director at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Montvale, NJ.
A graduate of Syracuse University, she has attended master classes at Westminster
Choir College & Voice and accompanying seminars in Princeton, NJ, New York City &
Switzerland with Oren Brown.
Ingrid was rehearsal accompanist for an opera premier in Germany, has been a
member of the New Brunswick Chamber Orchestra, and has performed with the Rutgers'
Chorale and the Bronx Chamber Arts Ensemble. Ms. Steele's experience includes
Musical Director/Pianist for 29 Broadway musicals and revues at Surflight Summer
Theater, Beach Haven, NJ; Old Library Theater, Fair Lawn, NJ; Count Basie Theater,
Red Bank, NJ; and other community theater groups.
Ingrid is the Founder and Director of Summer Singers, a community group that began
with 6 members and has had 88 in performance. As Musical Director of The Lakeside Choraliers,
she has conducted over 25 formal concerts as well as many charity concerts.
Ingrid has accompanied more than 2,000 vocal, instrumental, ensemble and recital
performances and has studied organ, voice, piano, harpsichord, choral conducting and
accompanying over the course of her career.
Accompanist
Susan LaFever joined The Lakeside Choraliers as their accompanist in September, 2004.
Susan has a wide and varied background as an accompanist, piano teacher and music director. She is a teacher and accompanist at The Ridgewood Conservatory and music director at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Eastchester, NY.
She previously served as music director and organist at other churches and has had ongoing experience as a collaborative pianist for various artists. On Broadway, she was a substitute pianist for "Cats", "The Sound of Music", and "The Lion King".
Susan's education includes degrees from Union College, University of Nebraska, a performance certificate from Manhattan School of Music, and doctoral studies at Rutgers University.
The Lakeside Choraliers
Founded in 1972, The Lakeside Choraliers, based in Montvale, NJ, have shared over
150 charity concerts at nursing homes, veterans’ homes and adult Senior
Centers over the years, as well as performing yearly at local churches.
Composed
of men and women of all ages from Bergen, Passaic, Morris and Rockland
counties, The Lakeside Choraliers perform music that encompasses
classical, Broadway, Pop, Multicultural and Folk. Its repertoire
includes Bach’s “Magnificat," Pinkham’s “Christmas
Cantata,” Shaw’s “Many Moods of Christmas,” and Brahms’ “Requiem.”
In addition to its Christmas concerts, the Choraliers take pride
in being known as the only choral group in the area that presents
their popular and unique “revue-style” spring concert.
