The fair Princess Kathryn sat in the window of her chamber looking out over the village below.
"If my true love is out there please have him look up at me from the village below and find me," Princess Kathryn prayed. "Oh I wish I could be free to live and love like the people in my kingdom," she said sadly. As soon as she said this Princess Kathryn's father, the king entered her room.
"Hello father," Kathryn greeted.
"Hello my daughter. What have you been up to all alone in your room when you should be out of doors in the court yards with Markus?" said the king commanding.
"Oh father. Markus is so serious. He never laughs, he drools ever time I am around like he is going to pounce on me any second, he is disgusting. I do not know how I will stand marrying him!" lamented Kathryn.
"Kathryn, you know regulations dictate you must marry who you are betrothed to," said the king a bit regretfully.
"Oh father can't we just change them. Besides I want to marry for love not money and station in life," said Kathryn passionately.
"You know we cannot change the regulations. They are who we are," said the King sadly.
"Yes father," said Kathryn resigned to her fate as the future Mrs. Markus Martousay.
"Smile my dear. You are the Princess," said the King before leaving Kathryn alone again. Kathryn looked out the window again.
"Oh how I envy your freedom," she whispered to the people below as a single tear slid down her cheek. She swiped it away and headed down stairs to her fiancée Markus.
Unbeknownst to Princess Kathryn an evil beyond all compare was lurking not far from where she was. The evil, dastardly, regulation quoting, Tuvockinator, was watching Kathryn's every move.
Kathryn gracefully walked into the court yard and greeted the awaiting Markus.
"Good day Markus," said Kathryn with barely confined disgust.
"Good day my fair Kathy," said Markus characteristically drooling over her. Just then the evil Tuvockinator jumped out of the shadows causing Kathryn to jump in surprise and Markus to quiver in fear.
"Hello Princess," said Tuvockinator dastardly.
"What are you doing here Tuvockinator? I thought I banished you from this Castle years ago," said Kathryn clearly not afraid, just annoyed.
"Yes, yes you did, but I have returned to enact my revenge!" said the Tuvockinator cackling.
"Oh and what would that be?" said Kathryn putting her hands on her hips and glaring at the Tuvockinator.
"I am going to take you to my tower and lock you in so you can never marry or fall in love!" said Tuvockinator.
"No way!" yelled Kathryn kicking the Tuvockinator in the shin and starting to run away.
"Ouch!" exclaimed the Tuvockinator rubbing his shin. Tuvockinator recovered and whistled. His whistle caused a huge dragon to fly up from out of nowhere and scoop Kathryn up.
"Darn," Kathryn said as the dragon took off with her to the Tuvockinators castle in Starfeetia Village. Markus just stood there and waved stupidly.
"He certainly isn't known for his brains," said the Tuvockinator before disappearing in a cloud of smoke. The King hearing the commotion rushed outside only to find his dearest daughter gone and Markus waving stupidly into the blank sky.
"Markus what has happened?" yelled the King loudly breaking Markus out of his stupor.
"Hello King. Kathy just went for a little ride on a dragon with someone named Tuvockinator," said Markus blissfully ignorant.
"Markus you fool! The Tuvockinator is the most evil, dastardly, regulation twisting, villain in all of Deltashia!" yelled the King.
"Oops," said Markus cowering away from the king.
"Harry!" yelled the king. Harry the Paige scuttled up to the King with a huge smile on his face.
"Yes, sir," answered Harry with a thick brogue accent.
"Harry, I want you to make a decree to all the land. Tell all knights and townsmen that Princess Kathryn has been kidnapped by the evil Tuvockinator and has been taken to the Castle in Starfeetia Village, and the one man to save her is to be granted one wish," said the King as Harry wrote it all down.
"Yes sir," said Harry finishing.
"Well get going," said the King.
"Yes sir," said Harry taking off in a run.
Miguel Chakotay had just stepped in front of his small hut after finishing his chores in the back when Harry, the King's official Paige turned the corner of the small town square.
"Attention! Attention! Everyone, the king's daughter Princess Kathryn has been kidnapped by the evil Tuvockinator. He has taken her to his castle in Starfeetia Village. Any man who can rescue her is to be rewarded by one wish," said Harry finishing and taking off down the next road. Miguel Chakotay had seen the Princess once or twice on her balcony looking down at his village. She was absolutely beautiful and he had fallen in love with her. He knew he had no chance with a beautiful Princess but he had to try and save her. Miguel Chakotay was determined. He ran back into his house and gathered a few supplies and his great grandfather's sword from the mantle. When he had collected everything, he walked outside and whistled for his noble steed Neelix. Neelix came right away and Miguel Chakotay mounted him and set off on his journey.
A few hours later Miguel Chakotay came across a young couple and their child of about two years old.
"Hello," Miguel Chakotay greeted.
"Hello," greeted the man.
"I am Miguel Chakotay, and I was wondering if you had seen a dragon fly by?" asked Miguel Chakotay.
"I am Thomas Sullivan; this is my wife Bell Anna, and our daughter Miral. Yes we have seen a dragon and it went that way," said Thomas pointing to the west.
"Thank you so much," said Miguel Chakotay before taking off on his horse with renewed vigor.
Five hours later Miguel Chakotay came to the gate of a dark, dingy, large, castle. A storm had just started to brew on the horizon.
"I better hurry," thought Miguel Chakotay. "Now how do I get in?" said Miguel Chakotay aloud. At that very moment there was a creaking noise and the large door creaked open on its own. "Well that was easy," said Miguel Chakotay as he peered through the door before warily stepping inside. The moment he did the door shut behind him and locked. "I'll have to deal with that later," said Miguel Chakotay getting off his horse and tying him to a nearby post. He pressed on for a few minutes before coming to a long spiraling flight of stairs. "This is way too easy," said Miguel Chakotay suspiciously. All of a sudden he was tackled by a tall blond woman. "Umm Hello. Who are you? Could you please get off of me?" asked Miguel Chakotay startled.
"Hello, I am Annika, lover of all men in love with someone else," said Annika in a deep, saucy voice.
"OK. Can you please get off me now," said Chakotay annoyed at being kept from his goal.
"I can't do that. If I did, you would save the Princess and I cannot allow that to happen," said Annika starting to kiss him. She was just about to lock lips with him against his will when another voice resounded through the large, dingy room.
"Annika! I can't believe you are cheating on me again!" said a balding man from the doorway angrily.
"Oh Robert, I wasn't cheating, just having a little fun," said Annika innocently getting off of Miguel Chakotay.
"Sure. And what's your excuse?" said Robert turning to Miguel Chakotay.
"She jumped on me!" yelled Miguel Chakotay getting off the floor and dusting himself off.
"Annika!" yelled Robert. Annika and Robert started fighting and Miguel Chakotay saw this as his opportunity to leave. He climbed the steps quickly and when he got to the top he was stopped by a door. He jiggled the doorknob to find it locked.
"Oh great," he thought. He searched through his bag for something to get through the door with. "Yes!" he yelled when he found what he was looking for. He pulled out a silver key with a skull's head on the handle. "My lucky skeleton key. I hope this works," he said putting the key into the lock and turning it. "Yes!" he yelled when it worked. He opened the door and entered a large room. In the back of the room there was a huge bed where he saw Princess Kathryn sleeping peacefully. He started to move closer, all the while thinking that this was way too easy and wondering at how he was the first one there. He got to the side of the bed and just observed the Princess. "She is so beautiful," he thought. He gently stroked her cheek lovingly. "Princess, Princess wake up. I have come to save you," whispered Miguel Chakotay softly to the Princess still stroking her cheek. She stirred, then opened her eyes to meet his. Her heart started beating faster.
"You have the most amazing brown eyes I have ever seen," said Princess Kathryn dreamily. He smiled at her. "Oh my! Your smile! It's gorgeous!" Princess Kathryn said surprised.
"Why thank you Princess, but we must be going," said Miguel Chakotay.
"Wait. Can I ask your name first?" asked the Princess smiling shyly at him. "It's Miguel Chakotay, but please call me Chakotay it's my real birth name," said Miguel Chakotay.
"All right Chakotay. Please call me Kathryn then," said Princess Kathryn. "Princess I cannot do that. You are the princess and I am merely a lowly peasant," said Chakotay sadly.
"This may sound crazy, but I feel this amazing connection to you. Like we have known each other for years," said Kathryn.
"I don't think you know me but I know you. You walk out on your balcony every day at twelve in the day and look out at my village. One day about three years ago I looked up at the castle after I had finished my work and saw the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Right there and then I fell in love with you," said Miguel Chakotay sweetly.
"Oh Chakotay! I prayed that my true love would look up at my balcony and find me," said Kathryn happily.
"Does that mean you think I am your true love?" said Chakotay surprised and hopeful.
"Yes it does. From the moment I opened my eyes and saw you I felt a connection to you. I think, no, I know I am in love with you," said Kathryn with happy tears in her eyes.
"How could you love a man of my status in life?" asked Chakotay amazed.
"It wouldn't matter to me if you were the lowliest man on earth! I love you and that's all that matters," said Kathryn passionately.
"You have just made me the happiest man in the universe," said Chakotay excitedly. Chakotay leaned over and picked Kathryn up and held her in his arms. They drew closer and closer until their lips where about to touch. They heard loud cackling and they jumped apart. Chakotay put Kathryn on the ground and twirled around to see the Tuvockinator laughing evilly.
"Tuvockinator!" exclaimed Kathryn surprised.
"Ha ha ha! I knew my plan would work!" said the Tuvockinator proud of himself.
"What plan would that be?" asked Chakotay.
"The one where I used the Princess here to draw out her true love so I could lock him away from her forever!" yelled Tuvockinator.
"Why do you do these things?" asked Chakotay.
"Because regulation 79 section 3 paragraph 6 clearly states that the Princess should never get married and be miserable her whole life," said the Tuvockinator nonchalantly.
"There is no regulation 79 section three, paragraph six," said Kathryn.
"There is now! I invented it," said the Tuvockinator happily.
"Umm why?" asked Chakotay.
"Because I felt like it," said Tuvockinator smiling evilly.
"Ok, well that's stupid!" said Kathryn. Just then Harry the Paige came up behind the Tuvockinator and hit him over the head with an extremely large pan.
"Gottcha!" Harry yelled triumphantly.
"Wow! Thanks!" said Chakotay and Kathryn simultaneously.
"No problem. He really got on my nerves," said Harry smiling.
"Seriously," said the King coming through the door to stand behind Harry. "Father!" yelled Kathryn running to her father and hugging him.
"Hello Kathryn," said the King hugging her back then looking at Chakotay.
"Well mister you did have a part in saving my Kathryn so what is your wish?" asked the King.
"Well I know I am not worthy, but I love your daughter very much, and I was wondering, If she agrees would you let me have her hand in marriage?" asked Chakotay mustering all his courage. The King looked deep in thought.
"Kathryn do you love this man, and do you want to marry him?" asked the King.
"Oh father I love him with every fiber of my being and it would make me the happiest person in the galaxy to be able to marry Chakotay," said Kathryn looking deeply into Chakotay's eyes.
"Well than forget the regulations. Nothing should come in the way of true love," said the King with a smile.
"What about Markus?" asked Kathryn surprised.
"We found out he was working with the Tuvockinator and we banished him to Talaxian Island, where he will soon be joined by the Tuvockinator here," said the King kicking the Tuvockinator lightly in the side.
"Yes!" yelled Kathryn very unprincess like. She ran to Chakotay and he engulfed her in his arms tightly.
"I'll just get him out of here," said the King picking up the Tuvockinator and throwing him over his shoulder before leaving the room.
"All my dreams have come true," said Kathryn looking deeply into Chakotay's eyes.
"Mine too," said Chakotay before their faces drew closer and their lips met. There was sparks and an explosion of passion as the kiss went on. The need for air finally became to strong and they broke apart.
"Computer, deactivate holodeck," said Kathryn. The world around Kathryn and Chakotay faded away and was replaced by the hologrid. "This was a wonderful idea for Valentines Day Chakotay," said Kathryn.
"Thank you. I hope you enjoyed yourself," said Chakotay.
"Oh very much," said Kathryn kissing him one more time before leaving his embrace but lacing her fingers through his.
"We better go pick up Michael and Samantha from B'Elanna," said Chakotay smiling at his wife.
"Your right they are probably being a handful," answer Kathryn smiling back.
"You know last year I never would have dreamed I would have two beautiful children and the woman of my dreams," said Chakotay squeezing Kathryn to him.
"Me neither, but I am glad you got me to forget regulations, because if you didn't I would still be sad and lonely.
"I love you sweetie," said Chakotay.
"I love you too," said Kathryn kissing him one more time before the holodeck doors opened.
"Happy Valentines Day," said Chakotay.
"Happy Valentines Day," said Kathryn back as everything faded to black.
And They All Lived Happily Ever After.
