Welcome to the Zeta test area of Mr. Roboto. Here, volunteer BZ2 pilots download and test the latest incarnations of the BattleStrat MOD.

Updates are plenty, and so are bugs and flaws. That's why I need brave souls to test these things.. make sure stuff isn't outta whack. E-mail me at jerryku@earthlink.net if you find any huge problems. AIM me at Jerryku7 if you just want to ask a quick question or setup a game.

Battlestrat 2004 requires Battlezone 2 and the Forgotten Enemies expansion MOD. It's also highly recommended you install the latest beta FE MPI DLL files, available here.

=== NEWS==
Feb 12, 2004
.... Version 1.02 released. MPI enemy set pieces (Protectors, rocket towers, rocket pods) have all been crippled. I really dislike the set pieces, especially since the game can be hard enough as it is with the AI using scrap boost and all. Two bug fixes included as well: Scion Fury no longer requires Awareness, and the Scion Nuke works now.

..... A new 1.01 ZIP file has been uploaded. It contains Mod Manager 5 files for easy install/uninstall of BStrat 2004. Game PAK file is still the same though.

Feb 6, 2004
....... Released version 1.01 of BS2004. This new version adds nuke capability for the Hadeans (they had problems countering AI overbuild).
-Hadean tank weaponry is now weak against Type 2 armor.
-"Nuke" weapon only destroys Type 2 armor units. "Sonic Kaboom" Scion nuke type has been removed. Awareness building has been removed. Nukes only destroy Type 2 units, so they should not pose too much of a balance problem in competitive gameplay. If someone uses nukes on you, make sure all your heavier units are not clustered together and are moving about. This way, nukes are exclusively designed to attack AI overbuild problems.

...... I thought BS2004 wouldn't have MPI overbuild problems (when the AI builds way too many units), but it did, so I've made a new version. Now EDF and Scion nukes can be used to destroy all Type 2 armor units (Hellcats for example). This is a great way to clear out AI bases that have huge numbers of Assault units. In competitive strat play, the best way to avoid nuke attacks is to keep your units spread out and away from your base. (Or to just destroy the fragile Labs in the enemy base)
==========

BS2004 is primarily meant for co-op play using the FE/CP MPI maps. It can also be played with Strategy competitive play.

BS2004's Main Features:
-- Unit prices significantly lowered (50% lower+) for all 3 races, increasing pace of gameplay.
-- New Rock/Paper/Scissors-style damage system.
-Missile units (Avenger, Lancers, etc) are great against Large units like Assault Tanks or Attilla Walkers, their default weapons (Multi-Lock, Shadower) have been modified to do high damage to large units .
- Counter missile units with regular tanks (Sabre, Warrior). Missile weapons do far less damage against tanks.
- Counter tank units with large units, such as Hellcat Rocket Tanks or Titan Assault tanks. Tank weaponry does less damage against large unit armor.

With the new damage system, it should be required that you have a good mix of combat units. Don't focus too much on one type of unit now.

- Most of BattleStrat 2K1's features: enhanced tank mobility, new units like the Valkyrie fighter jet, nuclear weapons from Armory/Stronghold - Lab/Awareness, full visual awareness from relay bunker/Antennae/Eyes of Xyr buildings (so you can command your armies with ease), and other features.
