a.k.a. Roslyn Washington
as explored by Herbie Saint

On July 4th, 2002, Dallas Stephenson and I set out on a journey across the United States (from North Carolina to Washington) on our motorcycles. One of our goals was to spend a night in Roslyn, WA - the town setting for Cicely Alaska on the television series, "Northern Exposure."
We arrived in Roslyn on Monday, July 8th and the following photographs are all from that day.

Just after arriving in Roslyn WA - Dallas and the bikes on Pennsylvannia Ave (the main drag).
We had reservations at Harry's Inn so we could have a few beers at The Brick that evening and be able to walk back to the room. Harry's Inn is just across the street above Village Pizza.

I had a hand-drawn map of production locations for Northern Exposure so we went in search of what we could find to photograph - after having lunch at the Roslyn Cafe - a nice little upscale joint that I heartily recommend trying if you're in town.

Maurice Minnifield's house and a truck in Roslyn (I don't think it's the same one as in the opening credits).

The Brick - outside at night and inside the Brick enjoying a few beers. That's Dallas with the hat.

We missed a few things on our visit - like where Chris' camping trailer was set up and Ruth-Anne's gravesite. I understand they are about 5 miles outside of town. And for some unknown reason, I didn't get a photograph of the totem pole. Maybe that's a sign that I must return.
That's about it. We spent one night in Roslyn and then rode onto the Pacific coast before turning around and heading back to North Carolina via another route. If you liked the show, then you'll certainly get a kick out of exploring Roslyn, Washington.
