Damnation and Hayle Fires

Traditionally the time around November 5th is one of the busiest times of year for the fire service but the last few days are unprecedented in the number of times the fire brigade has been called out to deal with incidents in Hayle.

On 3rd of November an appliance had to be dispatched from Camborne to deal with a potentially serious chimney  fire in Mount Pleasant.

On 4th November, an appliance was called to a car fire, thought to have been caused by arson, by the Millpond Gardens. The same day a fire engine was called to deal with a fire in a rubbish bin in Lethlean Lane by the recreation ground.

The same week saw the fire brigade make the 8 mile rush from Camborne again to deal with a VW Camper van that has burst into flames near the Loggans Mill roundabout and then again to deal with a traffic accident on the Hayle by-pass.

Indeed the fire engine spent so much of its time in Hayle last week it may have well have been based in the town.... now there's a thought!
