There was a huge
turnout for the protest march against threatened cuts in
Cornwall's hospital Services on Sunday, estimates put
the number of marchers between 27,000 and 30,000 with
many thousands more lining the route.
People from
all over Cornwall gathered at Paradise Park and were
addressed by local MP Andrew George. Mr George spoke
with great passion laced with a hint of anger at the
great injustice being suffered by health services in
Cornwall.
Then with bands playing and to the sound of 'Trelawney'
ringing out, the assembled throng made their way through
the streets of Hayle to the Recreation Ground.
It was pleasing to
see so many people of all ages marching in support of
their local hospital services.
