Cornwall Prepares to March

The protest march against the proposed cutting of health services in Cornwall   and the planned closure of St Michaels Hospital in Hayle has evolved into a county-wide protest.

The march aims to demand an independent review of health services in Cornwall and an end to the cuts in services at the West Cornwall Hospital plus removal of the threat of cuts at, or even complete closure of St. Michael’s Hospital in Hayle.

The march is scheduled to begin from St Michaels Hospital and travel the 1½ miles to the Hayle Recreation Ground. The march starts at 5:00pm on Sunday 27th August, however, since roads will start being closed from around 3:00pm  onwards, and traffic is expected to be heavy and parking at premium the organisers are asking people to allow plenty of time to get to the start.

It is planned to assemble at Paradise Park and march past St. Michael's Hospital at 5:00 pm and proceed down Foundry Hill, through Foundry Square and then along main road through Hayle to the Recreation Ground.
