Late Skate misses HayleFest

It has been announced that the Hayle Skate Park which was due to open this week is not going to open until 'the middle of August'. When Hayle Eye reported the delay back in November resulting following the failure to carry out a timely flood risk assessment we were condemned by Penwith Council. They claimed in the press that the delay would not affect the building schedule and that the Skate Park would open to the public 'in time for the start of the School Summer Holidays.'

In the event it has now been admitted that the Skate Park has fallen behind schedule and is unlikely to open until at least half of the school summer holiday has passed. It will certainly not be ready and open in time for HayleFest celebrations which start next week.

Talking of which, the programme of events for HayleFest has now been published. It will consist this year of a series of events centred on Hayle Recreation Ground and has been organised by Heyl Band.
