Views sought on Godrevy Light

Regular Readers will know that Hayle Eye was first to report the proposal by Trinity House to extinguish the light on Godrevy Lighthouse and that a campaign has been running to persuade Trinity House that it should be retained. Many people have expressed their opposition to these measures which will have a detrimental effect on small craft users and potentially to larger craft should their technology fail.

Terry Lello, as Chairman of Hayle Harbour Advisory Committee; and as a County and District Councillor has been working behind the scenes and has been invited to meet with Chief Executive Rear Admiral Jeremy de Halpert and Captain Duncan Class Director of Navigational Requirements of Trinity House, to put the case for the retention of the light. The meeting will take place at the end of May

Mrs Lello says "I am very happy to meet with Trinity House and put forward 'actual users' views and I would be would be delighted to hear from anyone who has additional technical knowledge, experiences or views that would further the argument for the retention of the light.
