Hayle Harbour Repairs Commence

Anyone who has walked or driven along Penpol Terrace recently cannot have failed to notice that the long awaited work to repair the quays has at last been started.

The repairs are the first of any real significance o be made to Hayle Harbour in more than 30 years and follow in the wake of the neglect of a series of previous owners.

While the essential works are to be welcomed, reports that they are start of the long awaited multi-million pound re-development must be taken cautiously.

It should be emphasised that the works currently in progress are 'essential repairs' and calls by some local politicians to get behind the Dutch company ING and support their plans seem somewhat premature as there are currently no plans on the table either to support or otherwise and none are expected until the summer at the earliest.
