What is It?
As part of the initiative to reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions the charity Community Energy Plus (CEP) is reduce energy use in the home in order to reduce energy waste and save you money into the bargain.

What can I get?
CEP are making a number of energy and bill saving measures available to households in Hayle. These are provided FREE and include:-

Loft Insulation Cavity Wall Insulation Hot Water Tank Jackets
Low Energy Light Bulbs Security Measures

The exact measures which will be available will depend on what you already have and the suitability of them in your home. In addition to reducing your energy consumption and reducing carbon dioxide emissions they could reduce your fuel bills by up to 70% and reduce damp and condensation.

Do I qualify?
All homes in Hayle qualify, you do not need to be on benefits and no-one will ask you any questions about your income or savings. There are no age restrictions or other qualifying criteria. Any work and materials will be provided free of charge with no further commitment, no contract and no other catches - there is no risk, no cost and nothing to lose.  Your home will be assessed by a qualified surveyor who will determine which of the above measures best suit you home and any work or fitting will be done by a qualified installer. Funds are available to provide energy saving measures to about 1000 Homes in Hayle on a strictly, first come, first served basis.

Launch Day
The project will with a launch day on March 19, at the Passmore Edwards Institute and will provide people with an opportunity to sign up for the project, as well as to learn more about renewable energy, sustainable building, environmental heritage, recycling and view displays from local schools. Children also have the opportunity to have their face painted, and adults can join in too. The doors open at 10.30am and the event will continue until 4.30pm.The launch day is an excellent opportunity to find out more about the project and sign up at the same time.

The project which is the only 100 per cent energy efficiency project for anyone, regardless of income or tenure has been made possible thanks to funding from the Single Regeneration Budget, Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, British Gas, EST Innovations Fund and contributions from registered social landlords
