Title: Glitter Shoe Games (or, What to do About a Missing Janitor) (1/1) Author: Cousin Shelley and Arletta Faction: Cousins Date: Wednesday, November 10, 2004 (With apologies for the back dating) Time: Around 5pm After: It Wasn't My Turn to Watch Her (1/1) Disclaimers: All participants used with permission. "Well?" "Well what?" "Tser!" "Okay, okay. I'm thinking." Tok scowled. After hearing Shelley was missing, the three heads of Cerberus had viewed the tape from the camera installed during the attack and confirmed that the mad cleaning woman in the closet was indeed the lost janitor. Now, it was up to them to decide what to do. Either that, or clean their own bathrooms. *Thwap* "What was that?" Arletta asked. "Dunno. Best not to ask," Tser said, appearing to think of a solution. In reality, she was wondering whether Cousine Moses would let her on the bed tonight, or if she'd have to sleep on the floor *again*. *Thwap* "What if we called the DPs up and just asked for her back? You know, try a diplomatic solution?" Arletta asked without much hope. "Not. Right. After. An. Attack." Tok said, head beginning to pound. *Thwack* *Thwack* *Thwack* "What IS that?" Tok demanded of the other two leaders. Both shrugged. "A tomato throwing contest?" Tser volunteered. "The sound of Post-Its being ripped off Bonnie?" Arletta said with a stifled giggle. *Thwack* *Thwack* *Bang* *Boom* *THWACK* "They're getting closer," Tok mumbled. "How can we think with this constant...." *THWAAACK* "That's IT!" Tok stormed to the door and pulled it open. The sight that met her eyes was one to behold. Becky was sitting on a chair holding two pair of the amazing maternity glitter sneakers, one lavender and one pink. Slowly, she took one, held it high above her head, then moved it around a bit so the light caught it just right. A group of cousins stood a few paces away as if transfixed by the sight. Without warning, Becky threw the shoe over their heads. As one, they craned their necks to follow it, risking serious whiplash injuries. *THWACK* went the shoe against the far wall. *Bang* went the three cousins scrambling after it as they hit various walls and body parts, fighting for it like cousins possessed. "I want it!" cried Parker. "No, it's MINE! You got the last one!" argued Marci. "But, I haven't had a turn to wear them yet!" Will chimed in. All of them turned to look at Will. "What? ... Oh. I ... uh ... meant that ... uh ... I hadn't had a chance to uh ... study the amazing errr ... properties ... of ... and, it's MINE!" he finished triumphantly, grabbing the shoe away from Parker and Marci. Bonnie, the Cousinly Receptionist, laughed uncontrollably. "Will, one lavender shoe, left foot," she said, noting it on a purple Post-It note labeled "Score". The other two cousins groaned dejectedly. "Look, I've got another!" Becky called from her chair, waving a pink one this time. *THWACK* *THWACK* "Gotcha! I threw both the pink ones! Go get 'em!" Bonnie quickly got out the pink Post-It score sheet and sat poised to record the winner. The three Cousins once again dove for the two mesmerizing shoes. Parker elbowed Will out of the way, yelling, "MINE!". Marci pulled Parker's hair with her left hand, while making a grab for the shoe with her right. The whole mess of tangled arms, legs, and hair came to a rolling stop at Tok's feet. She didn't look amused. "You three, return the shoes and go ... errr ... dust or something. We're missing our janitor, you know." The three reluctantly moved off, glancing at the shoes wistfully until they were out of sight. "Becky, quit tormenting the Cousins like that! You KNOW how those shoes affect them!" "Okay, Tok," she replied putting the pink pair of shoes on her feet and shuffling off, grinning. Tok shook her head. What these Cousins wouldn't do? But, back to the problem at hand. She turned around and went back into the office. "You don't want to know," Tok announced. "Okaay. I won't ask." "But we still need to come up with a plan." "I've got it!" Tser announced. "What?" Arletta asked eagerly. "We LEAVE Shelley there. It'll be like a SECOND attack on the DP!" "Ahhh," Tok said, and smiled.
