One of Chang's earliest successes was in Teatro Arbeu, Mexico City, 1917. At this time in his career he had just adopted the stage name Li Ho Chang which years later he would shorten to Chang. The wording in this handbill says:
Teatro Arbeu. Sunday 8 of July, 1917. Afternoon at 4:00; Night at 8:30. Last day! Farewell of the notable Chinese illusionist Li Ho Chang. Then it details the program which included moving pictures, an appearance by Li Ho Chang, the performance of Otto and Olivia (jugglers), a movie about the Chinese Revolution and another appearance by Li Ho Chang. |
