If you don't know about CD-R (Compact Disc Recordable) features, let me show you some notices for use and maintenance.
The recorded side of the CD-R, is more sensible at light exposure, at warmth and at humidity than a normal printed CD.
Avoid exposure for long time to direct sunlight or an excessive heat source, at water or moisture.
Don't scratch it, and remove any dust particles and/or fingerprints with a soft, dry cloth always in a stright line, from centre to edge of the compact disc.
If necessary, use ONLY CDs clean solutions (no solvent or abrasive cleaner should ever be used on the disc).
Always store the disc in its protective case after use.

The difference between this type of CD and the computer CD-R is that CD-Rs Audio have pre-payed royalties.
This means that you can posses legally (and use) its for personal purpose, but you lay down condition to have the original copy too.
When a CD-R Audio is recorded (with a CD-R recorder, NOT with a computer CD-ROM writer), a digital code (SCMS: Serial Copy Management System) is recorded on the CD too; this identify the compact disc like a first generation copy.
All the copies maked with that disc, are second generation copies and so unlawful. On a CD-R Audio is possible to make ONLY first generation digital direct recording.
Naturally a virgin CD-R Audio, is more expansive than a computer CD-R data, (abuot twice as much), but you can feel OK with the laws (and have a clear conscience...).
You can recognize this CD, for the print "CD-R Audio" or "for music use only"; on the label isn't related the MB lenght (650 or 720), but only the minutes duration (60, 74 or 80).
Therefore some brand, over the "Compact Disc digital audio" logo (present on every CDs), prints "for consumer" writing.
