COMMENTARY:
Have you ever wondered how God feels, when we waste food by simply throwing it away? (especially when we fill our dinner plate with more than we can possibly eat, and dump the left over food into the waste basket) This is also something many food vendors do after hours, with perfectly good food that was not sold during their normal business day.
I remember when children were told to only put the amount of food in their plate, they could (or would) eat. If they did not make a "happy plate," they were told they were sinning by wasting food. In our day and time many adults leave food on the plate, simply because they would rather overfill their plate, instead of having to make a second trip to the stove or counter for a refill.
While ther is no practical way to completely eliminate wasting food, a truly caring person can do a lot to prevent wasting food in their home. (and possibly in the fast-food places they frequent) There are people all over the world, including people in America, who go hungry on a daily basis. Pray about finding a way to detour this food from the garbage can, to the mouth of those who are truly hungry through no fault of their own.
Mark 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall
not lose his reward.
If we don't care about those in need, we will lose out in the end...
