While God the Father is the ultimate power over heaven and earth, this world is being directed by the "god of this world" who makes sure misery, disease, and death, are very common place here. God gives every human being a free will, so we have the option to choose who we will serve and follow after. Since unbelievers outnumber true believers, Satan has a lot of influence over the population of planet earth.

Satan's children do wrong by default, as they are blind to the truth of the gospel of salvation and God's gift of eternal life. While believers have authority over the devil, we are forced to endure the hardship "his children" cause here. Most believers who really work hard for Jesus, soon learn we are at war with the enemy of our soul. While we are assured total victory in the end, we do lose some of the battles we encounter along the road to success.

When the lost blame God for the things Satan does, we need to tell them the "god of this world" is NOT our Heavenly Father. Satan and "his kids" do a great job of making our world a "hell on earth," so we need to make sure we do our best to "lift up Jesus" so He can draw all men unto Himself...
