Discipline seems to have become something obscure, and out of style in our day and time. The "rod of correction" is considered by most to be an instrument used to abuse children, and all other forms of corporal punishment have been deemed as "cruel and unsuual" punishment. (even for those who rob. rape, kill and steal, without fear of accountability)
As stated in the book of Job, we need to be REMINDED discipline is God's way of dealing with all sinners, especially those who are members of His family. Also notice the discipline should be severe enough to do the job, as God also tells offenders to STOP sinning or else!
The Bible teaches us discipline is actually a blessing, and not a curse. We can either "do our own thing," or do things His way. Are your ears open to God's message concerning discipline? If not, you are listening to the wrong voice, and taking the word of man above the words of your Creator...
